What is Grahika?
Grahika is a Vedic astrology (Jyotish) engine and kundli calculator built for professional astrologers and researchers. It computes birth charts, 16 divisional charts, dashas, yogas, Shadbala, KP and Ashtakavarga, and shows the classical source for every rule it applies.
Is Grahika free?
Yes. Chart calculation is free and works without an account. A free account lets you save charts and pick up where you left off.
How accurate are the calculations?
Planetary positions come from the Swiss Ephemeris. The engine is checked against JHora as an independent reference — in our test set, all 6,600 of 6,600 divisional-chart sign placements match — and is covered by 535 automated tests.
Which classical texts is Grahika based on?
Brihat Parashara Hora Shastra (R. Santhanam's translation, checked against the Sanskrit with Sitaram Jha's commentary), Mantreswara's Phaladeepika, and the published working of P.V.R. Narasimha Rao and Sanjay Rath. Where a rule is a later convention rather than a classical one — Mangal dosha or Kalsarpa dosha, for example — Grahika labels it as such.
Does Grahika support KP astrology?
Yes. KP charts use real Placidus house cusps, with nakshatra lords, sub-lords and significators for every cusp and planet.
Which ayanamsha and chart styles are available?
Lahiri by default, with other ayanamshas selectable. Charts can be drawn in North Indian, South Indian or East Indian style.
Does Grahika use AI to make predictions?
No. The engine calculates; it does not predict. An AI research assistant is in development to organise charts, dashas and notes into working drafts — but the reading stays with the astrologer. AI can compute; it cannot do sadhana.
Is Grahika available in Hindi?
Yes. The app can be used in English, Hindi and Sanskrit (Devanagari).
Is there a mobile app?
iOS and Android apps are in development. Until then, Grahika works in any mobile browser.
